Computer aided design or drafting (CAD) is the use of computer program software in the creation, modelling, modification, analysis of a design.
The general purpose of the software is drawing or sketching in 2D and 3D. CAD software are used in field such as manufacturing, civil engineering, aerospace, robotics, 3D printing and graphic design.
The advantage of these programs is the fact that it ease the manufacturing of a product. Beside, evaluation and control can be done on the product for it to meet standard and minimise errors. It facilitates the production of sophisticated piece. There’re different types of CAD software which include
- AutoCAD
- SOLIDWORKS
- CATIA
- sketup
- Inventor
- Fusion 365, etc...
In our case the software to be used is AutoCAD
